About

 Kate Mertz - Vocals, Percussion

Kate was involved in chorus since the age of ten. She was so into sports growing up that she didn't realize she could sing until she was seventeen or eighteen. In her early twenties, she was a member of "Hog Leg", a classic rock cover band that played in the Lehigh Valley area. Later, she sang across the tri-state area with "Johnny Rock It", an original rock-a-billy/pop band. Kate is involved with many charitable organizations and has collaborated, and recorded with several artists in our area. She also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Forensic Psychology, and is working on her Masters in Social Work. Kate has the distinction of being nominated as "Outstanding All Around Performer" for the 2014 Lehigh Valley Music Awards. She was the ONLY female among the nominees! Kate also sang with Lehigh Valley cover band "That Being Said" for five years.

Ed Clauss - Electronics, Percussion, Kazoo, Guitar, Vocals

Ed first picked up drum sticks in second grade, and played in every high school band imaginable, covering all aspects of percussion including "triples" and tympany. In his spare time, he and buddy Scott Guman played together in a band called "Dionysus" back in the early eighties. He was a mobile DJ for twenty plus years with Sounds Good Mobile DJs, and D & S DJs. In 2009 Ed saw a rebirth of the interest in drumming. He has since played on local artist Perry Costello's CD "A Barefoot Life" and was a founding member of, and drummer for Lehigh Valley cover band "That Being Said".

Steve Harkins - Guitar, Piano, Vocals

A thirty year veteran of the Lehigh Valley music scene, Steve first picked up a guitar at the age of 16, validating his passion for music. Since then, he has been a sound engineer, vocalist, and a multi-instrumentalist for many area bands, including Tokar, Matryx, Flyin Blind, Jonas, Aggression, Curbshot, Gailforce, Handel, and BoneShakerz. He is also currently a member of POPROXX, The Day Drinkers, and Droppin' Trou.

What We Do

Kate & Those Guys are a little different from your typical acoustic trio. Kate, of course, uses the instrument of her voice to great effect, Steve sings and does all the guitar and piano heavy lifting, and Ed also sings and plays an electronic drum kit. The resulting sound is quite full for a trio, while being able to control the overall volume from background quiet to a full roar!

While most of our performances take place in Lehigh Valley area pubs and taverns, we are also ready, willing, and able to provide entertainment for corporate events, weddings, parties and family gatherings. Don't think something like this is affordable? Prices are VERY affordable for any budget! Contact us today to get a quote for YOUR event!
